We are only 2 days and 16 hours away from the first of ten triathlons to raise $10,000. I can't believe the first race is already here, everything has happened so fast. I looked at the Morgan Hill Sprint course earlier this week. The swim in the UVAS reservoir looks like a lot of fun but the bike course had me a bit worried. I went out today and rode what would be a comparable course (only I added twice the mileage) and I have a lot more peace about things. Sometimes a challenging course is good, it causes you to "up your game", to see what your body is capable of. There are lots of mental games that go on in racing, not just between athletes but between you and the course also. I guess I call it mental toughness. Sometimes on the course its easy to forget how strong you are and what you are capable of. If you don't keep your focus, recalling all of your training, deception during a race will set in. Your legs will tempt you to slow down, your lungs will ask the same thing, but you must remind yourself that this is not a time for comfort but to race.

Here's a picture of me when I was looking at the course for MHST.
